Today we are proud to announce the availability of a new release of our cloud hosting platform on our supported stable branch. Atomia 14.9 contains a large number of performance-related improvements, and adds native OpenStack support and enhanced VPS management features.

We’d like to congratulate our friends at Swebby. Just over a week ago, Swebby launched their Atomia-powered hosting service to the Swedish public. We’re partial, of course, but we think it looks great.
The quality of the people who make up your team can make or break your company. We here at Atomia have been well aware of this from the very start, so we always take extra care to only hire really smart, fun people who work well together. Today is the 15th annual System Administrator Appreciation Day, or just SysAdmin Day for short.
We here at Atomia are all in the hosting industry. To say that sysadmins are vital to our industry and the Internet as a whole would be the understatement of the year.
In general, mobile network operators don’t seem to be huge fans of becoming “dumb pipes” for the internet, but it’s becoming increasingly clear that that is exactly how people are treating them.
Just look at this chart from the latest State of the Internet report from Akamai, showing estimated global voice and data traffic on cellular networks:
We launched a new release of the Atomia cloud hosting platform this week. That merited a cake, we thought, so we asked Elin “Kringelin” Bergman to make us a yummy one.

The release is named 14.6 and builds upon the release made in January with an ongoing focus on quality and improving the existing functionality.
Next week it’s time for HostingCon in Miami Beach, Florida (June 16–18), and of course some of us from Atomia are going to be there. We’d love to meet you if you’re around.
