A couple of months ago, we launched Atomia.cloud, a site dedicated completely to Atomia’s cloud hosting software and our integration with OpenStack, a popular open source software for creating public and private clouds. We still have Atomia.com as the main site for our whole suite of hosting software, but it’s been interesting to see what a focused effort on one specific part of Atomia could accomplish.
I recently had the opportunity to deliver a keynote at WorldHostingDays, a popular hosting industry event, so I decided to speak about the business and marketing aspects of launching a new product online. Our product of choice would be a cloud service, but this advice applies to almost any kind of hosting venture or web service.
With awareness of mass surveillance and data privacy issues on the rise, the market for local, secure private clouds has never been more attractive. This is especially true for companies wanting to lease external computing power and storage. Who can they trust with their data?
Next week it’s finally time for Nordic Domain Days, part of the acclaimed Internet Days (more commonly known by it’s Swedish name, Internetdagarna), here in Stockholm, Sweden. We’ve really been looking forward to meeting everyone attending and joining the discussion.
